Situation

• Our client, a global mining company, was upgrading their Ellipse (ERP package) implementation at 6 mine sites and 2 admin sites in a US location and doing a new installation of Ellipse at 2 mine sites and 1 admin site in a location in Africa (the go-live for all of these sites occurred within a one week period)
• Simultaneously, the client was also: (1) consolidating and outsourcing all of their data center activities to a 3rd party; (2) outsourcing DBA work to a different 3rd party; (3) outsourcing their ERP application support to a third 3rd party; and (4) outsourcing IT help desk activities to a fourth 3rd party
• The client needed a provider to coordinate and work with all of the 3rd parties to design, build and test the infrastructure components (hardware, bandwidth, processes, 3rd party applications, etc.) necessary to support the Ellipse implementation projects

Solution

Sendero Business Services:

• Developed and managed the team work plan, the technical cutover and the operational readiness tasks
• Served as a coordination point and communication conduit between project team members and the 3rd party outsourcers
• Conducted stress test planning, execution and remediation
• Oversaw the design, procurement and implementation of the technology architecture and infrastructure for the environments
• Coordinated the build-out of all Ellipse environments (PRD, DEV, TST, TRN, etc.)
• Managed the installation and support of 3rd party software products that were integrated with Ellipse
• Performed the post-production/warranty support

All project tasks associated with the technical work plan were completed successfully and on time, which allowed for an on time go-live for Ellipse at all sites with minimal technical issues.
